First Trip to Snowdonia

I had made plans to head for South Wales and visit bike park Wales, Cardiff, and maybe even as far as Pembrokeshire National Park. However I found out Harry was heading up to Snowdonia so I decided to head up North and meet him at at Llyn Gwynant Campsite that was situated on the end of a lake. I found out on the journey that the van doesn't do hills very well, I learnt to have a run up at the bottom then I found myself dropping from 4th to 3rd and sometimes even 2nd. But that's all part of the fun!

I stayed on this Campsite with Harry for a couple days mountain biking, watching them climb but mostly chilling in the van because the weather was awful. It was a nice feeling sat in my van watching people battle with their tents in the strong winds. One night I woke up at 4am to shut the pop up roof in fear the van was going to become a cabriolet.
The campsite was situated straight ahead at the end of this lake.

I visited Gwydyr Forest bike park which was awesome fun, there was a huge climb on the fire roads but I would definitely go back. It was quite hard to find the start because the satnav took me to a discovery centre which was up an unbelievably steep hill and the van chugged up in first gear. The locals were very friendly and insisted I followed them to the centre I was supposed to be at.

Beautiful lake I came across on the Gwydyr Forest Marin Trail.

Quick lunch stop and onto the next campsite.
After finishing the ride I had some lunch and packed up to head to my next location which was 'TYDDYNDU' Campsite. It was quite a quiet campsite and had lovely views all around. From here I continued onto Coed-y-Brenin Bike park which was amazing, I rode the trail Dragons Back and ended up getting lost but I had a wicked time. I will definitely be returning to Coed-y-Brenin as there are many more trails to explore. After a stop at the CafĂ© it was time to head back home.

Breakfast at the TYDDYNDU Campsite.
